Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Wellpaged LLC ("Wellpaged," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use wellpaged.com, account.wellpaged.com, our page builder, hosted landing pages, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), and when we research and prepare speculative concept pages as described below.
By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
Wellpaged is a self-serve landing page platform for content creators and small businesses. We let people build a landing page from a template, preview it for free, and launch it on a Wellpaged subdomain or a custom domain. We also design speculative concept pages from publicly available information and present them as design proposals (see Section 4).
We are the controller of the personal information described in this Policy.
2. Information you provide to us
- Account and contact data — such as your name, email address, username, and password when you register.
- Profile and content data — the text, images, logos, links, and other material you add to your page ("Your Content"). Remember that launched pages are public (see Section 8).
- Payment data — when you launch a paid page, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment card and billing details. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited transaction and billing information.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support, feedback, or other inquiries.
3. Information we collect automatically
When you use the Service, we and our providers collect certain information automatically:
- Infrastructure and security data — Cloudflare hosts and delivers every page we serve, and processes network-level request data such as IP address, browser user agent, and timestamps in order to route traffic, cache content, and block abuse. We do not build visitor profiles from this data.
- Page measurement — pages we host include a small first-party beacon that reports to our own servers at wellpaged.com. For each page view or outbound link click it records only: whether the event was a view or a click; which page it happened on; the host name of the site you arrived from (for example "instagram.com" — never the full referring address, and arrivals from our own domain are discarded); the label and destination of the link clicked; and the two-letter country code Cloudflare associates with the request. It does not record or store your IP address, your browser user agent, or any visitor, device, or session identifier, and it sets no cookie. What we can see from it is aggregate counts, not a history of an individual visitor.
- Third-party advertising tags — we run the TikTok Pixel on the wellpaged.com homepage and on the page builder, so we can measure which advertising brings people to us. It loads only if you accept non-essential cookies (see Section 5); if you decline, or never answer, it is never loaded and TikTok receives nothing. When it is active it reports your visit, and whether you started or paid for a page, to TikTok, which may combine that with your TikTok account. We do not run it on customers' hosted pages. We do not currently run Google Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our software supports adding a customer's own Google Analytics 4 tag to their page on request; where that is done, it loads only after the visitor consents.
- Cookies and similar technologies — as described in Section 5.
4. Information about people who are not registered users (speculative pages)
Separately from the self-serve builder, we research publicly available information about content creators and businesses in order to build speculative concept pages and present them as unsolicited proposals. This may include a person's name, handles, public biography, profile imagery, links, and a publicly listed collaboration or business email. We collect this only from public sources.
These pages are kept unindexed from search engines and are clearly marked as speculative concepts not affiliated with the person featured. If you are the subject of such a page and want your information removed, email garrett@wellpaged.com and we will remove the page and associated data within a reasonable period. When we send outreach, we may use link-tracking (e.g., Short.io) to see whether a recipient opened the pitch link.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and remember your privacy choice. We currently set three, and none of them are used for advertising or for tracking you across other websites:
- wp_sess — essential. Keeps you signed in to your Wellpaged account. Expires 30 days after your most recent activity.
- wp_pv_<page> — essential. Grants continued access to a specific unpublished draft page you were invited to preview. Expires after 7 days.
- wp_consent — records whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask again. Expires after 1 year.
Our own page measurement (Section 3) remains cookieless. The one non-essential technology we use is the TikTok Pixel, which sets advertising cookies and is loaded only after you accept. Our cookie consent banner is shown on the wellpaged.com homepage and on the page builder — the two places the pixel can run. The rest of the Service, including customers' hosted pages, sets only the essential cookies listed above, so no consent prompt appears there. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the wp_consent cookie in your browser, after which the banner will ask again. If we introduce a further non-essential cookie, it will likewise load only after consent where required, and we will update this Policy first.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the essential cookies above will prevent you from staying signed in or from viewing a draft page you were invited to preview.
6. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service, including hosting and displaying your page;
- process payments, manage subscriptions, and send transactional messages (receipts, renewal and price-change notices, security and administrative alerts);
- send newsletters, product updates, and marketing communications to registered users — you can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us (we will still send necessary transactional messages);
- feature your live page and branding as examples of our work in our portfolio and marketing, consistent with our Terms of Service;
- research and prepare speculative concept pages and conduct outreach (Section 4);
- prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations; and
- improve our tools, templates, and models, including through the AI processing described in Section 7.
7. AI processing
The Service uses third-party artificial intelligence services — currently Claude, provided by Anthropic, with OpenAI configured as a standby for when that service is unavailable — to help generate and refine page designs and copy, and to improve our templates and tools. When you use these features or when we generate speculative pages, relevant content may be processed by these providers under their own terms. As stated in our Terms of Service, AI-assisted output may not be unique to you. We do not use this processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement.
8. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers / sub-processors who process information on our behalf, including:
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, content delivery, and the first-party page measurement described in Section 3.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- GitHub — our page build pipeline runs on GitHub. When a page is generated, the brief for that page is sent to GitHub, including the name, email address, and any profile details, links, and rates you entered.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI-assisted generation and tooling (Section 7). If that service is unavailable, the same content may be routed to a standby provider, OpenAI.
- Apify — receives your TikTok and Instagram handles to look up the public follower and engagement counts shown on pages that display live stats.
- Twitch and Kick — receive your channel handle for the same purpose.
- Google — Google Fonts. Google Analytics 4 only on a customer page where that customer has asked us to add their own tag (see Section 3).
- Zoho Mail — email.
- Short.io — outreach link tracking (Section 4).
- The public — anything you publish on a launched page is publicly accessible (Section 7 of the Terms).
- Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wellpaged, our users, or others, or to enforce our Terms.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
9. We do not sell or "share" personal information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not knowingly disclose personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing.
10. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described here. We want to be straightforward about how this works today: apart from the automatic expiries noted below, we do not run a scheduled deletion job. Data is kept until it is deleted on request, or as part of deleting the account or page it belongs to.
- Account and profile data — kept while your account exists. Closing or deleting your account removes it, subject to legal, tax, and dispute-resolution needs.
- Unlaunched drafts and page content — kept indefinitely, so that a page you started or took offline is still there if you come back to it. Deleting the page, or asking us to delete it, removes the page and its stored edits.
- Speculative and abandoned pitch pages — removed on request. If you are the subject of a speculative page, email us (Section 4) and we will take it down and delete the associated record.
- Sign-in sessions — expire automatically 30 days after your most recent activity.
- Page measurement data — the aggregate, non-identifying counts described in Section 3 are held by Cloudflare's analytics service and age out on that service's own retention schedule.
- Transaction records — retained as required by law.
To request deletion of anything described above, contact us at garrett@wellpaged.com.
11. Your choices and rights
You can update your account information, opt out of marketing emails, and control cookies as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights.
11.1 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to: know and access the personal information we have collected; request deletion; request correction; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out of sale/sharing is needed. To exercise these rights, contact us at garrett@wellpaged.com. We will verify your request and may use an authorized agent process. California's "Shine the Light" law: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
11.2 EU / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where applicable, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure, improve, and market the Service, and to conduct outreach, balanced against your rights), consent (e.g., for certain cookies and marketing, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligation. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, contact us at garrett@wellpaged.com.
12. International data transfers
We are based in the United States and use service providers in the United States and elsewhere. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
14. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Third-party links
The Service and user pages may link to third-party sites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to them; review their privacy policies before providing information.
16. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
